Laptop deployment information

GMSD will deploy student laptops during the week of August 5th. To accommodate families’ schedules, we have scheduled device deployment all at one location: Houston High School. Please make note below for your assigned date and time for pickup.
  • Monday, August 5, 3:00p-8:00p: Grades 9-10
  • Tuesday, August 6, 3:00p-8:00p: Grades 11-12
  • Friday, August 9, 8:00a-3:00p: Makeup Day for any student
You may drop in at any time between 3:00p and 8:00p on your assigned pickup date. Device pickup should take no more than 20 minutes, provided you have read the Student Handbook, the Blended Learning Manual, pre-paid the device maintenance fee on MySchoolBucks, and printed the Deployment Form. The Deployment Form will be available on Skyward Family Access about a week prior to deployment. You will receive a reminder to print that form once it is available.
We know your time is valuable. If you have multiple children in grades 6-12, you may pick up devices for all of them during any one of your assigned pickup dates (3:00p-8:00p) or the Friday makeup day (8:00a-3:00p). If you are not able to make either your assigned pickup date or the makeup day, please email Christopher.Cooper@gmsdk12.org to attend another day during that week. If all else fails, your child may pick up their device at their school during the first week of school.
There is a $50 laptop maintenance fee or a $30 iPad maintenance fee to cover the cost of insuring the device. If you did not pay during online registration, please pay the fee on the MySchoolBucks website (not the mobile app) as soon as possible. To pay the device fee, go to www.myschoolbucks.com from a desktop or laptop computer. Once logged in:
  1. From the School Store tab, click on Categories > iPad Maintenance or Categories > Laptop Maintenance.
  2. Click “View Details”.
  3. Fill out form completely and click ADD TO BASKET.
  4. Click on Shopping Basket in upper right corner to complete the payment.
