High school sports are not the only competitions in town. Participating students will be intellectually stimulated to create and build a project in the field of science, mathematics and/or engineering. Groups from all schools are encouraged to compete. A trophy, cash awards and other prizes will be given. OBJECTIVE: To encourage high school students to pursue a field of science or math to become more creative and globally competitive WHO: All Germantown and Houston High School students regardless of their residency, high school students who are Germantown residents, but attend a school outside of Germantown and all home-schooled students who reside in Germantown WHEN: Saturday, March 30, set up 8 a.m., judging 9 a.m. to noon, lunch and awards presentation follows WHERE: Houston High School, 9755 Wolf River Boulevard SCORECARD: Projects will be scored on a scale of 1 (poor) to 5 (excellent) in six categories - project quality, originality, originality, creativity, positive impact on society, contribution to science and presentation. Judges will provide positive constructive comments. AWARDS: First place $300 per student, second place $200 per student, third place $100 per student ![]()
